Welcome to The Hove Club, an exclusive Social Club, founded in 1882, for business and professional people. It offers a unique ambience in one of Hove’s most elegant street.
It was designed by local Irish Architect Samaul Denman and completed in the Jacobean style in 1897/8, matching in style and brickwork the Old Hove Town Hall 50 yards away. ( Burnt down in 1966). Unique is the glass roof which allowed light through internal loft skylights for the Billiard tables on the first floor. Electric lighting was in its infancy at the time.
Enjoy the atmosphere with fine dining and an extensive selection of wines in our restaurant combined with the fellowship of our members in our reasonably priced bar
There is also a programme of social events, wireless internet, elegant gardens and a number of other attractions,
all managed by professional and friendly staff. In 2016 we again received from Brighton and Hove City Council the top 5 star rating for our kitchen.
Our garden is looking better than ever. We have new contractors and with their help and the wetter weather the stripes are returning to the lawn (Like above)
Our new Gazebo looks superb but due to lockdown has yet to be "christened" by a wedding.
The new glass has already been completed on the garden side of the roof and the Contractors are working on the glass in the valley near the central chimney. This unseen area is more complex as the glass has different dimensions on almost every sheet. Tilley's Stonemasons are starting various repairs to the 2 windows on the south east corner and other parts very shortly. Whilst the scaffolding is up the windows will be repainted on the upper floors.
Thus our lovely old building will be looking much smarter for 2021
